Regional rules
We assess applications from residents of the United States, Canada and Australia. The core process is the same everywhere; the paperwork, payment method and tax treatment differ.
United States
- Open to lawful residents with a US residential address we can correspond with.
- Approved awards are paid by ACH to an account in your own legal name, or direct to a named supplier.
- Awards of USD 600 or more may require a Form W-9 for the funder's reporting records.
- Tax treatment depends on the purpose of the funds; we are not tax advisers.
Canada
- Open to lawful residents with a Canadian residential address we can correspond with.
- Approved awards are paid by EFT or Interac to an account in your own legal name.
- Correspondence is available in English or French on request.
- Some hardship and bursary assistance may need to be reported on your T1; take independent advice.
Australia
- Open to lawful residents with an Australian residential address we can correspond with.
- Approved awards are paid by Osko or PayTo to an account in your own legal name.
- Proof of age, identity and residency is requested after eligibility screening, via a secure link.
- Tax treatment depends on the purpose of the funds; take independent advice from a registered agent.
