Spot a fake message
Grant and prize scams copy the language of real programmes. We only ever contact you about an application you submitted yourself. Use this checklist before you act on any message that appears to be from us.
A genuine notice
- Refers to an application you submitted yourself on this website.
- Quotes the reference code from your own confirmation email.
- Comes from an address at our own napai.org domain.
- Asks for documents only through a secure upload link, never by reply.
- Contains no payment step of any kind.
Almost certainly a scam
- Asks for a fee, tax payment, gift card, wire transfer or cryptocurrency.
- Asks for your banking password, PIN or full card number.
- Pressures you to act within minutes, or asks you to keep it secret.
- Tells you money has been awarded to you when you never applied.
- Arrives as an unsolicited call or text offering a grant or prize.
- Uses a free email address or a lookalike domain.
